A few things to think about when deciding on whether or not to hire a "day of" wedding coordinator
Here is a great article that I read on one of my favorite blog sites "African American Brides Blog". I thought I would link to it because the article was very well written. Take a look and tell me your thoughts. http://blog.african-americanbrides.com/2008/12/do-you-need-day-of-coordinator.html
P.S. and just so you know.....Lavish Events has very reasonable pricing for our "day of" wedding package :)

What is a "Month of Wedding" package?
Recently, it has become very popular for event planners to offer a "Month of Wedding" package. This package is designed to give the bride-to-be some support during the most stressful time before their special day. During the last month before the wedding:
- the final count is due
- the final room setup is due
- guest cards for reserved seating are created
- hotel accomodations are made and managed
- final dress fittings (because someone didn't get it done on time :) )
- final deposits are due
- etc.........
My question to other planners and brides-to-be is what do you think should be offered in a "Month of wedding" package and what should the event planner's fee be based on for this service?

DonLarae and Tanesha, July 2009
This is a Lavish Events wedding from July 2009. Our team had a great time planning this Royal Affair. Don and Tanesha hired us a year before their wedding. The coupled lives in Alabama and needed an event coordinator to help plan their wedding back home here in Detroit. The couple wanted to use royal blue as their main color with silver accents to create their Royal look. They asked for bling on the tables and crystals to hang within the vases of their centerpieces. We used a silver glitter scroll table cloth to create that bling and satin silver chair covers on the chairs. The cake was designed by Tanesha to be elegant topped off with a blinged out R. I had so much fun working with them. They are a great couple and very good people.
Here are some of the things and people that we worked with to create their Royal look:
Wedding Theme: A Royal Affair
Colors: Royal Blue, Silver and White
Venue: Petruzzello's Banquet and Conference Center
Signature Drinks: Royal Blue Martinis
Photographer: Kahn Santori
Florist: Magnificent Floral Events
Invites, logo and programs: Lepenn Designs
Linens: Candelite Linens and More
Cake: Lakes Cakes
Makeup: Tayla Ashford, Behind The Scenes - Makeup
